I am a voter in this district and I am deeply concerned about unregulated toxic chemicals that are found in our homes and environment. Meanwhile the chemical lobby is spending millions of dollars to block reform in Congress. Will you stand up for our families and support the Safer Chemicals Agenda? http://bit.ly/O1H4OT
Sample email to candidate:
Dear Candidate _________,
Every day American families are exposed to toxic chemicals like lead, cadmium, and formaldehyde -- often times through consumer products in our homes. Science has linked toxic chemicals to the rise in childhood cancer, early puberty, infertility and learning and developmental disabilities; this is simply unacceptable.
Today I’m asking you to stand up for the health of American families over the interests of the chemical lobby. Big Chemical has spent millions in backing candidates for office this election season. I am writing to ask you to support the Safer Chemicals, Healthy Families platform and to ask where you stand on the important issue of increased regulations on toxic chemicals.
I would like you to publicly support the Safer Chemicals, Healthy Families platform and make this a priority in your campaign and subsequent public service. As a potential constituent, this is an important issue to me.
We have also recently heard that the big chemical companies and their lobbyists are spending an unprecedented amount of money to influence this election. And that is why we are asking our candidates to stand up for our kids, and not the chemical lobby.
Thank you.
